Sycamore Networks Inc. (SCMR) reported a wider first-quarter GAAP net loss of $10.39 million or $0.04 per share compared with $5.78 million or $0.02 per share in the first quarter of fiscal 2009.
However, first-quarter fiscal 2010 non-GAAP net loss was $3.18 million compared with a loss of $3.46 million in the year earlier quarter. However, non-GAAP loss per share for the quarter remained unchanged at $0.01. On average, 2 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected loss per share of $0.02 for the quarter. Analysts' estimate typically excludes one-time items.
Revenue for the first quarter of fiscal 2010 increased to $15.62 million from $15.43 million in the comparable period.
