Thursday, Bank of Smithtown, a subsidiary of Smithtown Bancorp, (SMTB) appointed John Romano as President & Chief Operating Officer of the Bank and the holding company. For the past ten years, Romano served at Bank of Smithtown as Executive Vice President and Chief Retail Officer. He previously served as a Vice President at Astoria Federal Savings. for both the Bank and the holding company.
The company also appointed Christopher Becker as Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of the Bank and the holding company. Becker joined the Bank this past April as an Executive Vice President in the finance area. He previously served in roles as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer at Bridgehampton National Bank. Anita Florek has also been named as Executive Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer of the Bank and the holding company.
Smithtown Bancorp Inc. operates as a bank holding company for Bank of Smithtown, which provides commercial and consumer banking services.
