Blue Coat Systems Inc. (BCSI) reported net income for the second quarter of $8.4 million or $0.19 per share, compared to a loss of $0.3 million or $0.01 per share in the year-ago quarter.
The company reported non-GAAP net income of $13.1 million or $0.29 per share, compared to non-GAAP net income of $11.6 million or $0.27 per share in the second quarter of fiscal 2009.
Total net revenue for the quarter increased 1% to $120.4 million from $119.0 million in the prior-year quarter.
On average, analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.26 per share, on revenues of $120.11 million for the quarter. Analysts estimates typically exclude special items.
Looking forward to the third quarter, the company currently expects net income of $0.01 to $0.12 per share, and non-GAAP net income of $0.31 to $0.36 per share. Revenues for the quarter is expected to be in the range of $121 million to $126 million.
Analysts currently expect earnings of $0.31 per share on revenues of $124.98 million for the third quarter.
