The Japanese currency climbed to its highest level in more than 14 years against the US dollar during early Asian trading on Friday. The yen touched 84.84 versus the greenback by 6:40 pm ET, the highest level since the tail end of July 1995. The greenback-yen pair that closed Thursday's deals at 86.59 is presently quoted at 85.45.
