Spanish Unemployment Continues To Rise In November

The total number of unemployed in Spain increased by 60,593 from a month ago to 3.87 million in November, the Ministry of Employment and Immigration reported on Wednesday. Compared to November 2008, the number of unemployed soared by 879,677.

The rise in unemployment was particularly marked in the services, construction, industry and agriculture sectors, the Ministry said.

By provinces, Barcelona and the Balearic Islands recorded the biggest rise in the number of unemployed, while Almeria, Jaen and Cordoba registered decreases in in the number of unemployed.
