Akamai Technologies Inc. (AKAM) announced that it has increased its fourth quarter 2009 guidance for both revenue and profit. The company now expects fourth-quarter GAAP earnings to be in the range of $0.19 - $0.20 per share.
Akamai now expects revenue for the fourth quarter to be in the range of $230 to $235 million, or 8% to 11% growth from the fourth quarter of 2008, and normalized earnings to be in the range of $0.42 - $0.43 per share. Earlier, Akamai had expected fourth quarter revenue to be in the range of $217 million to $224 million or 2% to 5% growth, and fourth quarter normalized earnings per share of $0.39 - $0.41.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expect the company to report earnings of $0.40 per share on revenues of $220.98 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
