Gene Simmons Sued For Assault

Kiss bassist Gene Simmons is being sued over an altercation that occurred December 19 at a Los Angeles-area shopping mall, when a couple tried to film the star and asked him questions about his personal life.

Although Simmons was able to avoid a restraining order, he was slapped with a civil suit alleging assault and battery.

Nathan Marlowe and Cynthia Manzo are claiming that Simmons stole their camera and grabbed both of them by their necks and threatened their lives. Simmons was supposedly set off when he was being filmed and questioned by the couple regarding the his legendary sexual reputation.

The couple says that the 60-year-old Simmons lunged at them during the incident.

The couple are seeking better than $25,000 in damages, alleging "emotional distress." Simmons was not arrested or charged in connection with the incident.
