Air Canada (AC_A.TO, AC_B.TO) said carry-on baggage for flights operating into the United States will be restricted to one personal item.
This new secuirty measure is in in response to new goverment policies and to reduce delays caused by the enhanced security measures to its customers. Air Canada will implement one carry-on item per passenger from Sunday, December 27.
Carry-on item can be a purse, computer bag, diaper bag, brief case or a small backpack. All other items such as roller bags and large backpacks must be checked-in, Air Canada said.
Further, the company adviced its passengers who are travelling to the U.S. from Canada to arrive early at the airport which would result in adequate time for additional personal searches.
