Allegiant Air, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Allegiant Travel Co. (ALGT), reported preliminary passenger traffic results for December, fourth quarter.
The airline said its December total system traffic rose 19.2% to 422.95 million revenue passenger miles or RPMs from 354.71 million RPMs in the same period last year. The airline's December total system capacity was 480.94 million available seat miles or ASMs, up 16.0% from 414.57 million ASMs in the prior year period.
Total system Load factor for December 2009 was 87.9%, up 2.3 points from 85.6% in December 2008.
For the fourth quarter, Total system traffic rose 24.2% to 1.12 billion RPMs from 905.58 million RPMs last year. Total system capacity was 1.30 billion ASMs, up 23.9% from 1.05 billion ASMs in the prior year period. Total system Load factor was 86.7%, up 0.2 points from 86.5% in the prior year quarter.
