Mariah Carey and Eminem were among the winners at Wednesday's 36th annual People's Choice Awards, held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. The event gave fans a chance to cast their votes for their favorite entertainers. The winners were determined solely by the votes.
Carey was voted favorite R&B artist, winning over "Empire State of Mind" singer Alicia Keys, Beyoncé, Jennifer Hudson and Usher.
Eminem took home the award for favorite hip-hop artist, beating out Flo Rida, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne and T.I. Shady was also nominated in the category of favorite male artist, along with Jason Mraz, John Mayer and Tim McGraw, who all lost to country singer Keith Urban.
Carey was also honored this week for her part in the hit film, Precious, at the Miami International Film Festival Awards Gala. The singer appeared shaky while addressing the audience, and admitted that she was drunk.
