Spider-Man, Turn off the Dark, the Broadway musical written by U2's Bono and the Edge, will most likely have to be pushed back from its February 25 preview dates, according to Tony Award-winning actor Alan Cummings.
"No one's going to be there that day. We're just waiting," he told the New York Times in an interview.
Cummings explained that Spider-Man's producers hit significant delays last year when they failed to raise the necessary funds, which had an estimated price tag of $50 million. Though the show's website and promotional material still say it is set to open next month, the actor is far less optimistic.
Its "a really weird, frustrating thing to be waiting," Cummings said, but added that when the show does eventually open, it will provide "a new, very exciting experience" for viewers.
Meanwhile, U2 is preparing to kick off the next leg of their 360° World tour with dates starting next summer at Angels Stadium in Anaheim, California.
