Clarence Clemons, Bruce Springsteen's famed saxophonist, is recovering from back surgery. The longtime E Street Band member says he is "in great spirits" following the procedure Wednesday.
Clemons issued a statement, saying that he is looking forward to getting back to music.
"The Big Man," who celebrated his 68th birthday this week, also took to his Twitter page in order to address his fans, tweeting "We can dance again! Bless the people in Haiti."
The procedure occurred at a Manhattan area hospital.
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are currently enjoying a bit of downtime. They have been touring the world nonstop for the better part of the past two years. The band had been out on the road in support of their 2009 release, Working on a Dream, which has sold 3 million copies worldwide.
