Eddie Vedder's cover of Bruce Springsteen's "My City of Ruins" is available now as a digital download through Pearl Jam's Ten Club and iTunes. Proceeds from the sale of the track will go to benefit Artists for Peace and Justice Haiti Relief.
Vedder added his own spin on the Boss' classic by performing the song on acoustic guitar with the help of a gospel choir.
The track was recorded at last year's 32nd Annual Kennedy Center Honors, an event which recognizes recipients for their lifetime contributions to American culture through the performing arts. During the show, Melissa Etheridge performed Springsteen's "Born to Run," while John Mellencamp covered "Born in the U.S.A." and Sting offered his take on "The Rising."
Vedder is currently being sued by Canadian songwriter Gordon Peterson, who claims that Vedder made unapproved changes to his lyrics for "Hard Sun," which Vedder performed on the Into the Wild movie soundtrack.
