Oscar-nominated actor Rip Torn was arrested over the weekend for an alleged armed robbery attempt at the Litchfield Bank in Salisbury, Connecticut.
The 78-year old actor, who is best known for his role in "Men In Black" and as television executive Don Geiss in NBC's "30 Rock," was reportedly drunk when police found him in the bank Friday night carrying a loaded revolver. He was charged with burglary and possession of a firearm without a permit.
Torn is currently being held on $100,000 bail.
The incident is not Torn's first brush with the law. In 2009, he was arrested for drunk driving in Connecticut, and he also has two previous drunk driving arrests in New York. The actor reportedly agreed to attend an alcohol education course following his 2009 arrest.
Torn won an Emmy for his work on "30 Rock." He is also a cousin of actress Sissy Spacek, who is best known for her role as the lead character from the 1976 thriller, "Carrie."
