Pratt & Whitney, a division of United Technologies Corp. (UTX), said that along with Royal Brunei Airlines it signed an exclusive three-year agreement for engine overhauls and part repair services for the airline's V2500 engines. Royal Brunei Airlines is the flag carrier airline of the Sultanate of Brunei.
In a separate release, Pratt & Whitney said China Airlines has signed a multi-year exclusive inventory logistics program agreement with Pratt & Whitney. Under the agreement, Pratt & Whitney Global Service Partners will be the exclusive part replacement and repair provider for China Airlines' fleet of PW4056 engines.
Separately, Pratt & Whitney said Turkish Airlines, the national carrier of Turkey, has selected International Aero Engines V2500 SelectOne engines for 20 firm and 10 option A320 family aircraft, scheduled to be delivered between 2011 and 2013. The potential value of the order to Pratt & Whitney is approximately $165 million. The V2500 SelectOne build standard delivers an additional 1 percent fuel burn advantage, along with a corresponding reduction in CO2 emissions.
