CVS Caremark Q4 Profit Rises - Quick Facts

CVS Caremark Corp. (CVS) reported that its fourth-quarter net income available to common shareholders was $1.05 billion or $0.74 per share, compared to $949 million or $0.65 per share in the same quarter last year.

Adjusted earnings per share from continuing operations for the fourth quarter of 2009 were $0.79, compared to $0.70 in the fourth quarter of 2008. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.78 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Net revenues increased to $25.82 billion, from $24.14 billion in the fourth quarter of 2008. Sixteen analysts had consensus revenue estimate of $26.22 billion for the quarter.
