Earlier this week, Ringo Starr was honored with the unveiling of his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The event featured speeches from such rock and roll icons as Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh, Police drummer Stewart Copeland and songwriter Ben Harper.

The event took place at the famed Capitol Records building in Hollywood, California, and brought out crowds of Beatles fans as well as several high school marching bands. Starr is also on the Walk of Fame as a member of the Beatles and is the third member of the group to receive the individual honor, following John Lennon and George Harrison.

"I want to thank Capitol Records," Starr said in his acceptance speech, BeatlesNews.com reports. "It's nice to look at a building that you helped pay for."

He went on to talk about his relationship with Lennon and Harrison, and to reminisce about his days as a Beatle.

"I love them both, and I want to send peace and love to both of them," he said. "And let's not forget the guy's who's in England — Paul. They looked out for me and I looked out for them, and we all supported each other. It was really beautiful to be part of that. And besides that, we made some great records."
