U2 made the most money in the music world last year, according to a Billboard magazine report.
The band earned more than more than $108 million in 2009, topping the Billboard Money Makers list. Bruce Springsteen was second with $57 million and Madonna made the third spot with $47 million. AC/DC earned $43 million and Britney Spears took in $38 million to finish off the top five.
Madonna was tops last year.
In 2008, U2 signed a 12-year deal with Live Nation worth an estimated $100 million, according to reports.
The band's current tour, called 360°, consisted of 44 shows last year. U2 will resume touring in June in Salt Lake City, Utah. The upcoming trek includes stops across the U.S. and Canada in June and July before they move to Europe in August.
