The consensus estimate was for EPS of $1.19. The company also increased its full year 2010 EPS forecast to between $3.85 and $3.95, from prior expectations of $3.45 to $3.65. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $3.58.
Esterline Technologies gapped open sharply higher Friday, but traded in a range throughout the day. Shares finished up by 4.94 at $54.79 on the highest volume in 3 months. The stock has been gaining ground for the past week and a half and closed at a 3 1/2 month high.
