Kid Rock Says Lawsuit Was Actually For $2.9 Million

Kid Rock is speaking out on his recently settled lawsuit in which he was accused of attacking a man at a Waffle House outside of Atlanta, Georgia.

Rock took the time to personally testify in his own defense, and in a recent interview with MTV he explains that it was for more than a mere $6,000, as was erroneously reported.

"Do people really think I was down there because I was being sued for $6,000? They wanted $2.9 million in punitive damages. But that didn't get printed anywhere. I had no choice but to go down there and state our side of the story. At the end of the day, they wanted $2.9 million and they got $40,000. I consider that justice done," Kid told MTV.

He added that while it was a petty disagreement, he feels no remorse for defending his friends.

"It was a little squabble at a Waffle House. It's more silly than anything," Rock said. "There's some things that happened that I would probably do differently the next time, but at the end of the day, I'll always defend a woman's honor or my family or friends. I'm just glad it worked out the way it did."

Kid Rock's new album Born Free hits stores on November 16.
