The Broadway show Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark is getting a script rewrite. Though ticket sales have remained steady, the musical has been plagued with poor reviews and injuries to its actors.

Deadline.com reports that Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has been tapped for the rewrite. A spokesman for the production, Rick Miramontez, would not cofirm the news though, telling the site: "We have no comment on that report."

Aguirre-Sacasa wrote Spider-Man comics for Marvel from 2006 to 2007. He is currently a writer for the HBO series Big Love. He is also slated to write a musical adaptation for the American Psycho novel with Duncan Sheik.

The $65 million Spider-man: Turn Off The Dark is part stunt show, part musical and was scored by U2's Bono and The Edge. Opening night is set for March 15.
