R&B singer/reality star Mashonda has publicly spoken out about her newfound acceptance of ex-husband Swizz Beatz's marriage to Alicia Keys.
The "Dirty Laundry" singer had vocally denounced Beatz when he divorced her and quickly married Keys. The couple now has a child. But in an open letter to "clear the air" before her VH1 reality show Love and Hip Hop, Mashonda noted that she has changed and matured. She claims to have accepted the role Keys will have in the life of Beatz's child from the previous marriage.
Said Mashonda: "It took some time, but I now realize that even my former husband and his new wife, are my partners in this wonderful journey. When I look into Kasseem's eyes, I see the joy in his heart by having such a wonderful, blended family that loves him so much. As this blended family of ours continues to grow, I look forward to the months and years ahead raising our children together as one."
Mashonda will be joined by Olivia (formerly of G-Unit) and the girlfriends/wives of hip-hop artists including Jim Jones and Fabolous on Love and Hip Hop. The show premieres on March 14.
