Jeff Bridges In Talks To Join Ryan Reynolds In 'R.I.P.D.'

Jeff Bridges is in talks to star in the film-adaptation of the graphic novel, "R.I.P.D." If he signs on for the flick, he will join Ryan Reynolds who has already signed up for the picture. Zach Galifianakis was originally slated to fill the role.

"R.I.P.D." tells the story of a slain police officer (Reynolds) who joins the Rest In Police Department, which patrols the underworld. In exchange for 100 years' service, Reynolds gets the opportunity to track down his killer.

If he signs, Bridges would play the role of the old hand with whom Reynolds is partnered.

Peter Lenkov wrote the graphic novel which was published by Dark Horse Comics. Mike Richardson, of Dark Horse Entertainment, is producing along with Neal Moritz and David Dobkin.

The film will be directed by Robert Schwentke ("The Time Traveler's Wife," "Red").
