Tuesday, Suzlon Energy announced that its subsidiary Suzlon Wind Energy Corporation signed a contract with Edison Mission Energy of Irvine, California for a total of 300 units of S88-2.1 MW turbines, with an option to EME to elect not to purchase units due for delivery in calendar year 2009.
The order is for 150 units of the turbines in calendar year 2008 and 150 units of turbines in the calendar year 2009.
EME elected to cancel the order for 150 units of turbine in the calendar year 2009. Subsequently, the order backlog of the company stands reduced by 315 MW.
