Sky City Entertainment Reports Sharp Earnings Drop

Earnings at New Zealand casino operator Sky City Entertainment Group fell by 50 percent in the past year.

Sky City Monday reported a net profit of NZ$49.9 million for the year to June 30, compared with NZ$98.4 million in the preceding year.

The company also declared a dividend of 10.5 cents per share, compared with 12 cents last year.

The result falls well short of the company's previous guidance of a profit of NZ$108-110 million before write-downs.
