Mitsubishi Electric ships Small-Size PV Module for Non-Electrified Areas; to build Photovoltaic Cell Plant - Quick Facts

Mitsubishi Electric Corp. (MIELF.PK, MIELY.PK) announced shipment of four small-size photovoltaic modules for overseas market. The company noted that these modules are suitable for use in stand-alone solar power generation systems in areas where local electrification infrastructure is insufficient or non-existent. The company expects to begin shipment on October 1, 2008.

Mitsubishi also planned to construct new building for photovoltaic cell production at its Nakatsugawa Works Iida Factory in Nagano Prefecture. Mitsubishi Electric plans to expand its annual production capacity to 600 megawatts in fiscal 2012.
