Double Eagle Petroleum Elects Richard Dole President, CEO - Update

Monday before the bell, oil and gas company Double Eagle Petroleum Co. (DBLE) said it appointed Richard Dole as president and chief executive officer.

Dole is the chairman of the board and a director since 2005. Until his election as CEO, Dole served as the chairman of the Audit Committee from 2005. Holding 40 years of experience in energy and finance businesses working with companies such as Burlington Resources International, Westport Resources Corporation, PricewaterhouseCoopers and KPMG, Dole is also the chairman, chief executive and president of Petrosearch Energy Corp. (PTSG.OB) since 2004.

Additionally, Double Eagle elected Brent Hathaway to its board and named him as the chairman of the Audit Committee and a member of the Compensation Committee. Hathaway is currently the Dean of the College of Business at the University of Wyoming. Previously, Hathaway has served in managerial posts in companies such as Aerospace Services, a unit of Honeywell International Inc. (HON), and Concord.

DBLE closed Friday's regular trading session at $15.41.
