Wednesday, Interserve Plc (IRV.L), a maintenance and building group, said that the group's overall trade has continued to be in line with expectations. Additionally, Interserve announced that it has won a set of new major contracts worth £140 million.

In 2009, Interserve pointed that it would reflect reduced assumed returns from scheme investments that resulted in increased non-cash interest costs.

Looking ahead, the group said it remains encouraged of long-term prospects and is confident of demonstrating further progress in 2009.

In addition, the company announced signing a framework agreement with Mapeley, covering construction and refurbishment work on a UK estate. The contract for over four-year term is worth £70 million to Interserve.

In Qatar, Interserve through its associate won a £65 million contract to build a seven-storey office block and two amenity buildings through its associate. The company also inked two separate deals with Derry Schools in Northern Ireland and Kingswood School in Northamptonshire.

Currently, the stock is up 0.99 pence, trading at 217.74 pence on the London Stock Exchange.
