Damon Albarn says that the next Gorillaz album will be titled Plastic Beach.

Snoop Dogg, Lou Reed, Mos Def, the Horrors and Barry Gibb will all make guest appearances on the album, which will be Gorillaz's third.

"This whole Gorillaz album, Plastic Beach, which is nearly finished now, started off as Carousel," Albarn told the Guardian's Paul Morley. "[It's] sort of about the mythical aspects of Britain. Obviously, because it's Gorillaz we've moved it to a different place, but it still maintains a lot of that melancholy."

He added, "I'm making this album the most pop record I've ever made in many ways, but with all my experience to present something with some depth to it."

Gorillaz's new album is just one of Albarn's many upcoming projects. A documentary on the reunion of his band Blur, titled No Distance Left to Run, is due in theaters in January. The Blur/Gorillaz frontman is also working on a project with graphic novelist Alan Moore.
