Celine Dion Reaches Number One With 'Because You Loved Me' 16 Years Ago

2006 - Gnarls Barkley Release 'Crazy' As Single

Gnarls Barkley released their debut single “Crazy” on March 23, 2006. The track was released off the duo’s debut album “St. Elsewhere” and included the B-sides "Just a Thought,” "Go-Go Gadget Gospel,” and “The Boogie Monster."

The track rose to the number two position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, reaching its peak on July 22, 2006. At the time, the track was only held out of the top position by “Promiscuous” by Nelly Furtado (featuring Timbaland).

“Crazy” did, however, capture the number one spot in the U.K., where it held on for nine weeks. The band and their label, Downtown Records, then deliberately pulled the track from radio claiming they wanted people to “remember the track without getting sick of it.”
