A plane with 21 people on board crashed on Monday while trying to land at a mountain airstrip in Jomsom, a key trekking hub about 200 kilometers north-west of Nepal's capital Kathmandu.
Reports quoting police said at least nine people were killed in the crash. Some of the severely injured passengers, who survived the crash, were taken by helicopter to a hospital in the nearby city of Pokhara. At least 16 passengers of the Dornier aircraft, belonging to the Agni Air, were said to be Indian nationals.
A plane carrying tourists to view Mount Everest crashed on the outskirts of Kathmandu killing 19 people last year.
