"Parks and Recreation" star Rashida Jones has apologized for a recent comment in which she suggested John Travolta should "come out" as homosexual. The comment came during an interview between Jones her writing partner Will McCormack.

Discussing the impact of singer Frank Ocean's choice to come out, McCormack said: "There needs to be, like, a professional athlete that comes out."

"And a movie star! It's time," Jones replied, to which McCormack added: "Yeah, like a big one."

She then added: "A movie star. Like John Travolta? Come out! Come on. How many masseurs have to come forward? Let's do this."

The comment raised a few eyebrows throughout the media, inspiring Jones to issue an official apology via Twitter:

"Made a thoughtless comment about John Travolta," she tweeted. "I sincerely apologize. Nobody's personal life is my business."
