Kicking & Dreaming: a Story of Heart, Soul and Rock & Roll, the new book from Heart founding members Ann Wilson and Nancy Wilson, gives readers a look into the life and times of two of rock's darlings.
The book shares one story of the band's early days when it was performing Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven." Zep appeared in the club and quickly disappeared into the back without acknowledging the girls, according to the book. The girls wrote that they later saw Jimmy Page passed out in the club.
Another story features Van Halen, with whom Heart toured. The sisters say brothers Alex and Eddie proposed a foursome between the pairs, which Ann and Nancy turned down.
Kicking & Dreaming, published by HarperCollins, hits retailers on September 18. Heart releases its latest album, Fanatic, on October 2.
