Turkey's unemployment rate dropped unexpected in February, after a strong rise in the previous month, data released by Turkstat showed Wednesday.
The unadjusted jobless rate dipped to 10.5 percent from January's 10.6 percent. Economists had forecast the figure to climb to 10.8 percent. A year ago, the rate was 10.4 percent.
The youth unemployment rate also eased to 20.4 percent from 20.7 percent.
The number of unemployed increased by 163,000 persons from the same period last year to total 2.88 million.
On a seasonally adjusted basis, the jobless rate decreased to 9.2 percent from 9.4 percent.
