Moldova industrial production growth slowed in May, following a surge in the previous month, data released by the National Bureau of Statistics showed on Wednesday.
Industrial production grew 4.2 percent year-on-year in May, after a 23.5 percent jump in April. Production increased for the fourth month in a row.
Manufacturing output showed a gain of 4.4 percent and production increased 4.3 percent in the utility sector. Meanwhile, production declined 3.5 percent in the mining and quarrying sector.
During the January to May period, industrial production gained 5.9 percent from last year. Factory output rose 7.6 percent, while mining & quarrying production surged 20.9 percent.
