During a weekend performance in Massachusetts Carly Simon was invited by Taylor Swift up on the stage for a performance of the former's 1972 hit "You're So Vain."

Before asking the New England folk legend to join her, Swift teased the audience:

"Before I bring out my special guest, I have this question that I've always, always had. I think a lot of you have probably had this question too, always wondered what the answer is. Who is this song 'You're So Vain' by Carly Simon, written about?"

After the show, Swift gushed about the opportunity on Twitter:

"Got to sing 'You're So Vain' with Carly Simon at Gillette Stadium tonight!!!!! Unreal. I could not possibly look up to her more."

Fan shot video of the performance is currently circulating the web.
