Legendary singer Aretha Franklin and Motown Records guru Barry Gordy are set to be saluted for their career achievements at the 2014 BET Honors.
"With countless hits that have earned her over 18 Grammys and an induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, 2014 will see the legend add another accolade to her shelf," the award show's official website said of Franklin.
Ice Cube will also be honored at the event, which celebrates African Americans performing at top levels in the areas of music, literature, entertainment, education and more. American Express CEO Ken Chenault and photographer and video artist Carrie Mae Weems will also receive tributes at the event.
The 2014 BET Honors will take place in Washington, D.C. on February 8. The special will air February 24. Comedian Wayne Brady will host the special. Performers will be announced at a later date.
Halle Berry and Chaka Khan were celebrated at last year's event.
