Beatles Piano Goes Up For Auction

The piano that Paul McCartney and John Lennon playing during the filming of Help! is set to hit the auction block.

The pair used the 1907 Bechstein Concert Grand to compose the title track to the 1965 film, according to the film's director Richard Lester, who is selling it, the BBC reports. The director also says the instrument was used by Sir Paul to compose "Yesterday." It has been valued at nearly $84,000 by Omega Auctions and will be sold in Liverpool on March 20, 2014.

Lester bought the piano in the late '60s from Twickenham film studios where it had been used for dozens of feature films since the 1930s. The director also Lester worked with members of the Fab Four on "A Hard Day's Night" as well as directing Lennon in "How I Won the War."
