The jacket worn by Ringo Starr in the Beatles's film Help! sold for $46,500 at Boston's RR Auction over the weekend.
The double-breasted black wool number went to an unnamed "top rock 'n' roll collector in Rhode Island."
According to the seller, the jacket features soft gray vertical line patterns, a keystone layout of six black buttons, and four more on the end of each cuff. "Ringo No. 1." is stitched on the upper lining of the right sleeve.
Other items to sell at the auction included a Hamer guitar made for Johnny Ramone ($50,000), an autographed Jimi Hendrix Experience album cover ($31,000), a contract signed by Jim Morrison, and a signed photo of Janis Joplin ($19,000).
