Steely Dan provided the musical backdrop to a recent lighting display at New York's Empire State Building. The famous structure celebrated the 50th anny of its Master FM Antenna by lighting, while Steely's "FM (No Static At All)" was simulcast on a local radio station.

Designer Marc Brockman choreographed the lights for the special spectacle at the Empire State Building.

Over the summer, the Empire State Building's lights were synced to coincide with a performance of "U.S. Blues" that took place at the same time in Chicago by members of the Grateful Dead, Trey Anastasio, Jeff Chimenti and Bruce Hornsby. Brockman was also in charge of the lighting design for that display.

Steely Dan were commissioned by Universal Pictures to write "FM (No Static At All)" for the film FM.
