A U.S. district court judge quoted lyrics from Taylor Swift while tossing out a plagiarism lawsuit against the singer.
R&B singer Jesse Graham recently filed a $42m lawsuit against Swift, arguing that her 2014 hit single "Shake It Off" ripped off one of his songs.
In throwing the case out of court, judge Gail Standish quoted several Swift songs in her statement.
She said, "At present, the Court is not saying that Braham [Graham's actual surname] can never, ever, ever get his case back in court. But, for now, we have got problems, and the Court is not sure Braham can solve them. As currently drafted, the Complaint has a blank space - one that requires Braham to do more than write his name. And, upon consideration of the Court's explanation in Part II, Braham may discover that mere pleading BandAids will not fix the bullet holes in his case."
Standish concluded, "At least for the moment, Defendants have shaken off this lawsuit."
