M83 have announced that they have finished work on their forthcoming new studio album.

Frontman Anthony Gonzalez recently confirmed the news and described the record as "epic" and "eclectic." The album is expected to be released sometime next year.

"It's a very strong album with a lot of eclecticism," he tells Entertainment Weekly. "It's very epic. There's a lot of different genres that are not supposed to live together but I tried to make them live together, which is quite challenging. It's also quite different from the previous albums, which is what I'm the most proud of."

The band last released Hurry Up, We're Dreaming in 2011. M83 also recently released a compilation of remixes and b-sides from 2008 album Saturdays = Youth, plus reissues of that album and 2007's Digital Shades.
