M83 Releases New Single 'Solitude'

M83 have shared the new single "Solitude," from the band's upcoming album Junk. The six minute track follows "Do It, Try It," and is available now via YouTube and Apple Music.

Consequence of Sound writes that the tune is "highlighted by synths straight out of an '80s ballad and the kind of sweeping string and piano arrangements perfect for soundtracking a cinematic outer space scene."

NME adds, "Taking a pop structure to the maximum, Solitude mixes conventional pop songs with a stirring ballad-esque harmony."

The LP features collabs with Beck and previous M83 collaborator Susanne Sundfor, among other "unexpected guests."

Junk, the seventh studio album from M83, is due April 8.

"Anything we create today is going to end up being space junk at one point anyway, and I find it really fascinating and scary at the same time - beautiful too in a way," says bandleader Anthony Gonzalez of the inspiration for the new LP.
