Prince Covers David Bowie's 'Heroes'

Prince offered up his most recent tribute to David Bowie, playing a cover the classic track "Heroes" during a recent concert in Toronto. It was the first time ever that the Purple One covered "Heroes" and the track was just one of 55 songs he played during two back-to-back shows.

Prince also made recent headlines with news that various pieces of his gear and memorabilia will hit the block at Nate D. Sanders Auctions on March 17. The items up for grabs include a 1959 Gibson acoustic guitar, a pair of stage handcuffs worn by the singer, handwritten lyrics, and a 1978 demo tape.

Nate D. Sanders calls the demo tape "incredibly rare," and "giving a unique window into Prince's early creative process, just as his career was starting to soar." The guitar, the minimum bid of which is set at $60,000, was "used by the legendary artist Prince in the 1970s to sketch out and record early demos," adds the auction house.
