The Cure kicked off their latest North American tour with the debut of two brand new songs, "Step Into the Light" and "It Can Never Be the Same."
The band kicked off their current tour in New Orleans at the UNO Lakefront Arena where they performed the new material. Fan footage of both can be seen online.
The band's North American tour will encompass 27 dates in 22 cities, concluding June 26 in Miami. These concerts mark the Cure's first major North American jaunt since 2008, promoting their 13th (and most recent) LP, 4:13 Dream. In a statement announcing the trek, the Cure promised to "explore 37 years of Cure songs," including hits, deep album tracks and new material.
The Cure will also play a handful of arena gigs in London and Manchester at the end of the year, which represents their first U.K. tour dates since 2008.
