Slipknot's Shawn 'Clown' Crahan Speaks On Directorial Debut

Slipknot percussionist Shawn 'Clown' Crahan recently discussed his directorial debut with Rolling Stone. Crahan directed the film adaptation of the graphic novel Officer Downe. The story follows a policeman who is resurrected from the dead and does battle with anthropomorphic monsters.

Crahan wanted to stay true to the source material, which was rather gory in nature. He said, "there was blood everywhere - a lotta blood." "I personally dumped the blood on the floor in some scenes. I'm like, 'More here. More there.'"

Regarding the filming, Crahan said, "I had to basically do a movie that should've been shot in three months, and I did it in four weeks. It was a lot of pressure."

The film stars Sons of Anarchy's Kim Coates in the lead role. The cast also includes Dexter's Lauren Vélez and Drag Me To Hell's Alison Lohman.
