John Legend Releases New Song 'I Know Better'

John Legend has just released a new single, "I know Better." The track comes off his forthcoming album, Darkness and the Light.

The song deals with Legend's up and down career. The artist sings about mistakes he has made in the past regarding compromising his integrity for money. In the song, Legend sings, "They say sing what you know, but I've sung what they want / Some folks do what they're told, but baby this time I won't." Legend tells Rap-Up that he has done "some things" that "he can't justify," however, he plans to turn his career around.

Legend told the Los Angeles Times, "If you follow me on Twitter, you know I have a point of view. I want to do the same with my art. I want to contribute to the conversation." Legend's new album drops on December 2.
