New Zealand Q1 Manufacturing Activity Volume Climbs 1.4%

Total manufacturing activity volume in New Zealand was up a seasonally adjusted 1.4 percent on quarter in the first three months of 2018, Statistics New Zealand said on Monday.

That followed the upwardly revised 1.5 percent jump in the previous three months (originally 1.0 percent).

Nine of the 13 manufacturing industries had sales rises in the March 2018 quarter. The largest movements were transport equipment and machinery manufacturing, up 6.0 percent, and meat and dairy product manufacturing, up 2.2 percent.
