Port Authority of Valencia Joins Maersk, IBM Blockchain Project TradeLens

Spain's Port Authority of Valencia or Valenciaport, has joined the blockchain-enabled shipping solution project TradeLens as "Early Adopters." The solution is jointly developed by Danish transport and logistics giant Maersk and IBM by applying blockchain to the world's global supply chain. The partnership with IBM and Maersk will facilitate application of blockchain technology in Valenciaport's logistics chain to promote more efficient and secure global trade.

Blockchain plans to 'Airdrop' $125 Mln of Stellar Cryptocurrency

Blockchain, a cryptocurrency wallet provider, plans to distribute around $125 million worth of Stellar lumens to its users, as part of efforts to drive mainstream adoption of the crypto. In the giveaway, termed "airdrop", perhaps the largest of its kind, Blockchain has joined with Stellar Development Foundation to hand over the coins.


DTCC tests blockchain project with 15 global banks

Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) said it advanced to the testing phase of its ground-breaking project to move its credit derivatives Trade Information Warehouse (TIW) to blockchain platform and cloud. 15 of the world's largest global banks are participating in the project with DTCC, the premier post-trade market infrastructure for the global financial services industry. U.K.-based Barclays is one of them, while the other 14 banks were not named.

Israel's eToro rolls out cryptocurrency wallet

Israeli social trading and investing platform eToro rolled out its own cryptocurrency wallet. The wallet, available for download on Google Play and the Apple App Store, provides a customer interface which claims to show on-blockchain transactions and balances without losing users' private key. Users will initially be able to store only four crypto assets - Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum and Litecoin, in their eToro wallet.

Current Prices

Currently, Bitcoin is rising by 1.26 percent or $81.03 at $6498.68. Ethereum is trading 1.43 percent or $3.05 higher at $216.95 on Coinbase.
