Reclusive singer-songwriter and pianist Fiona Apple is recording new music in her home studio.
A video posted on a fan Instagram page shows Apple, lying on the floor of her home studio, telling her dog, "Are we recording? Are we doing vocals?... I think we are".
"OK, we need to get back to work now.... You don't need to go to a studio.... You could just do stuff in your house, and then nobody can tell you what to do," she can be heard saying.
A second video shows Apple playing percussion with the disclaimer, "make sure to say it's my sloppy percussion,because I know I'm sloppy…."
Except for a few singles, Apple hasn't done an album since her 2012 release, The Idler Wheel.
